“People are inundated with over 3,000 marketing messages per day which means we all have to filter out information that is too hard to understand."

We get a lot of questions from clients about choosing a tagline for your business.

So how do you choose a good tagline? And what makes a good tagline?

There’s actually a really easy way to decide on a good tagline for your business.

If your business name explains what you do, for example, Johnson CPA Services, your tagline should talk about your differentiators. It could be something like, “Yout tax return filed on time, every time.”

If your company name doesn’t explain what you do, for example, Johnson Services, your tagline should explain what your business does. It could be something like “Tax and accounting services for small businesses.”

The biggest mistake we see businesses make is trying to be clever or sophisticated without being clear. This only creates confusion for your audience.

People are inundated with over 3,000 marketing messages per day which means we all have to filter out information that is too hard to understand.

A good tagline will actually help you grow your business. It will help people understand what you do and show how you are different.

A good tagline should express the essence of your brand’s position and should last 5 – 20 years, it should not change with every marketing campaign.

Above all else, clarity wins the day.

Helping you discover your tagline is part of our branding expertise.
